Xeomin vs. Botox
What's the difference?
The most significant difference between Botox and Xeomin is the fillers added to these substances. As mentioned above, Xeomin does not have any added fillers, unlike Botox.
Many doctors sometimes refer to Xeomin as “naked Botox” because of its purity. There is only one main ingredient in Xeomin, botulinum toxin. This purified form of the neurotoxin removes any accessory proteins from the active ingredient because there is no need for those added proteins. They do not help or hinder the effectiveness of the drug.
Desensitization rate
Another main difference between Xeomin and Botox is desensitization. Years of receiving Botox injections can lead to desensitization because of the added proteins in the substance. Xeomin does not contain any of these proteins. This means that desensitization does not happen with it, unlike Botox.
